Prof. Ujjwal Kumar Chowdhury, one of the foremost media educators in India, had earlier served as the Dean of prestigious institutes such as Amity University, Symbiosis International University and Whistling Woods International.

Prof. Chowdhury was rather humble in his acceptance speech when he said, “I am happy to receive the award. I believe this is for shaping the concept of convergence in media-based education, which I have been able to implement in several educational institutions. Currently I intend to take it to a different level altogether at the Ramoji Film City (RFC) in Hyderabad, which happens to be the largest integrated film city in the world. There are more than 3,000 students, who bear testimony to this approach.

He added, “I believe going ahead, media and communication education must have a digital base in learning and outcome and should be with a hospital-medical college approach where students learn and work at the same time in the same campus”.

Prof. Pradyumna Vyas, a senior academician in the field of Design with more than 27 years of professional and teaching experiences across different spheres of design was earlier honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award – Design, 2016 during the India UX Design Awards for his remarkable contribution to the field of design academics.

Prof. Vyas said, “Careers in the field of Design are emerging in the country and therefore this domain needs a lot of attention. I am glad to see design education being recognised in the Edutainment Show. It is indeed a pleasure to see more than 70 percent of the stalls in the Edutainment Show belonging to Design Institutions. With this, I could say that there are more and more design institutions that are upcoming in India”.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Edutainment Show is a national educational event that was organized by Event Capital, which is under the Laqshya Media group, in partnership with The Times of India and Businessworld. It aims to offer the aspiring students an exciting career options in the fields of journalism, public relations, advertising, event management, fashion, designing and other allied courses.
